Warsaw, Poland May 2022: The Fellowship of Fathers Foundation (FoFF), through its international arm Family First Global (FFG), helped deliver 40 tons of food and basic medical supplies to Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine for Orthodox Easter, April 24th. The supplies were delivered to FFG’s partner churches and synagogues in the Kharkiv region, which are serving as refugee shelters and food distribution centers for the war torn populace.

Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second largest city with a pre-war population of almost 1.5 million. The city and surrounding region has been the scene of heavy shelling and constant attacks from Russian forces since the beginning of its war against Ukraine in late February. Many of Kharkiv’s apartment buildings have been destroyed, as well as much of the city’s basic infrastructure. Much of Kharkiv’s civilian population has been killed, wounded or made homeless.

While tens of thousands of city residents have fled to Western Ukraine or neighboring countries, many others were unable to leave. Many among the remaining residents are older or infirm and so unable to make the long, arduous journey to safety. Food and basic medical supplies are in very short supply.

“I’m proud of our FFG Partners in Ukraine who drove two 20 ton trucks from Poland, through an active war zone, and distributed 40 tons of relief supplies to our partner churches and synagogues in Kharkiv” commented former US Ambassador Gregory Slayton, the Chairman of FoFF/FFG. “And how wonderful that they were able to distribute badly needed food and medical supplies to thousands of needy families on Orthodox Easter. It shows again the truth of the Passover/Easter message: that even in the deepest darkness the Light shines strong. We thank all of our partners who helped make this possible, from our gracious donors to our brave Ukrainian truck drivers and distribution partners. Together, we truly are stronger” he concluded.

“Our teams didn’t see any other NGO’s delivering relief supplies into Kharkiv” reported the Ukrainian Project Leader for FoFF/FFG. “That’s not surprising given how dangerous the journey is. One of our drivers saw a car hit a Russian mine and blow up” he continued. “We thank GOD for the safety of our drivers and distribution partners, and we pray for peace in our nation” he concluded.

The FoFF/FFG is a US 501c3 charity that has served at risk families in nations around the world for over 10 years. All FFG nations are committed to helping all families regardless of race, religion, socio-economic background or nationality.

Financial contributions can be made to FoFF/FFG for this this effort and are 100% tax deductible. Designated gifts will be used 100% for Ukrainian Refugee Relief efforts and to support Ukrainian Special Forces with nonlethal military aid.
