Jakarta, March 2022 \u2013 Family First Indonesia and Family First Global (FFG), in partnership with the Bilangan Research Center and the Asia Evangelical Alliance, successfully hosted a global webinar \"Overcoming Family Conflict and & Domestic Abuse in the Church\" on March 1, 2022. The event saw over 3,000 pastors, church leaders, and key members of various Christian organizations from around the world in attendance.<\/p>\n
The webinar, which provided insights based on surveys done in Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal, and Mongolia, was able to delve deeply into causes of different forms of domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, and sexual abuse. The General Secretary of the Asia Evangelical Alliance and Head of the Board of Trustees of the Bilangan Research Center Bambang Budijanto Ph.D., and FFG's Founder and Chairman and \"Be a Better Dad Today\" bestselling author Hon. Prof. Gregory W. Slayton led the eye-opening discussions as the event's guest speakers, imparting valuable advice for church leaders to help them eliminate domestic abuse within the communities that they serve.<\/p>\n
Other Family First Global Nations and Partners including Japan, Pakistan, Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, India and Nepal also showed strong support for the webinar. Family First Indonesia's Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritas Pak Handi Irawan set the tone for the entire event with a rousing opening speech, while Pamilya Muna Pilipinas' (Family First Philippines) Glenn Yu delivered poignant remarks that closed the memorable gathering.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is absolutely no room anywhere in the Christian church for domestic abuse of any kind,\u201d added Chairman Slayton. \u201cThe Bible urges us men to \u2018love our wives as Christ loves His church'. That is a high bar, and while we\u2019re not always successful, that is always the goal. And that means that any type of domestic abuse cannot and must not be tolerated anywhere in the church,\u201d Slayton continued. \u201cPastors and other church leaders must clearly and forcefully teach this, model this in their own homes, and move quickly to help any victims of domestic abuse while getting appropriate help, including law enforcement if necessary, for the abusers.
