Manila, Philippines—February 9, 2024: Shepherd’s Family Care program, led by Pamilya Muna Pilipinas (Family First Philippines), strengthens its commitment to families in the southern region of the Philippines, with a focus on the Visayas and Mindanao. This initiative represents a significant milestone in our commitment to equipping pastors and community leaders with vital family-strengthening resources, particularly in areas facing challenges accessing such materials.
Pastor Samuel Evangelista (photo on left), Shepherd’s Family Care Champion, emphasized the pressing need for family leadership training materials in remote provinces, especially in the southern region of the Philippines.
“These far-flung provinces have limited access to family leadership training materials. So we make sure to bring these to them, especially in the southern region of the Philippines,” he stated. With a strong network of pastors and community leaders already established nationwide, the Shepherd’s Family Care program is now extending its reach to train more family leaders in the Visayas and Mindanao. The program’s impact extends to even the Subanon people of Zamboanga Del Norte, reaching diverse communities with vital family-strengthening resources.
Throughout February and March, the Shepherd’s Care team will visit dozens of smaller towns in the Visayas and Mindanao region, including the farthest provinces in conflict-ridden areas such as Zamboanga Del Sur and South Cotabato. This initiative aims to empower hundreds of church and community leaders with crucial training on parenting, marriage, and fatherhood.
Mr. Glenn Yu, Chairman of Pamilya Muna Pilipinas and Family First Global Asia, highlighted the importance of supporting pastors in their role as family shepherds.
“We recognize the tireless efforts of pastors in nurturing families, and we are committed to equipping them by strengthening their own families through training and fellowship with fellow pastors and shepherds,” he stated.

Hon. Gregory W. Slayton, Global Chairman of Family First Global, expressed gratitude to the pastors in the provinces, acknowledging them as valuable partners in reaching the farthest corners of the country.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the pastors who tirelessly serve their communities. Your dedication to strengthening families is crucial, and we are honored to stand beside you as you continue this important work,” he remarked.
The Shepherd’s Family Care program of Pamilya Muna Pilipinas (Family First Philippines) embodies Family First Global Organization’s dedication to strengthening families and building resilient communities across the Philippines. Together, we are making a lasting impact on families’ lives, one community at a time.
